Abstract Body:

Gallium Oxide is of increasing interest for high voltage power electronic applications, however is still in its (relatively) early stages of development; a few key challenges are a low thermal conductivity, the inability for good p-doping, open questions on defects in Gallium Oxide, are there killer defects for devices, just to name a few. In this presentation, I review latest results on Gallium Oxide for power electronic devices, including novel growth approaches; Gallium Oxide device performances already now can exceed those of Gallium Nitride and Silicon Carbide.
