Abstract Body:

In this talk I will present the fabrication and lasing application of CH3NH3PbBr3 microwire with a dual-end-bulged geometry. Our bulged CH3NH3PbBr3 microwires were synthesized by an anti-solvent method. It is then confirmed that the high-concentration Pb element from the solid PbBr2 thin film would slow down the microwire crystallization along the {110} crystal facets, resulting in unequal growth rates of different crystal facets and formation of the bulged end facets. As shown in Fig. 1, the bulged end facets of the microwires are feasible for non-axial whispering gallery mode (WGM) lasing while suppressing Fabry-Pérot-type multi-mode lasing, without the requirement of complex structures (such as distributed Bragg reflector) or careful pumping adjustment. Our result demonstrates a novel strategy for practical feasibility of single-mode lasing in the microwire geometry.
